Rain, Rain and more rain

Hi folks, it has been raining for the past week now. I really didn't have time to get out and do much. It has been real boring sitting here and watching tv or spending lots of time on YouTube but, even that got old. Fall is definitely here and got a couple of Fall colors and a night moon shot.

Sunset
                                        The Moon last night

This mornings breakfast
                                            Dinner last night, Moose stew

Rice with Chicken

Tonight...Rice with Cilantro Lime marinated Shrimp.
Here is a 16 Ft. Squareback Canoe I picked up for $125.
I want to take this to the remote cabin for the lake.

It's not one of my best posts but, better than nothing. I'm hoping the rain stops this coming week sometime, I want to go berry hunting. So, until then enjoy. Take Care

Some beautiful photos! Envious of your square back canoe deal. Will you put a motor on it? One thing that still surprises me is the variety of your diet. I think of your place as fairly remote. But all the different foods in your diet has me thinking you have a large grocery store across the street.

I really enjoy your blog.

Have a Great Day!

Hi Jim thanks, actually I have to travel 80 miles round trip to a super market. I have an electric motor for it right now. I have to travel that far for many things. Thanks for stopping by.

I guess that's a great price for that canoe? They are pretty pricey around here.
Hopefully the rain slacks off and you can get outside.

Hey John
nice price on that canoe. It looks to be in excellent condition. The birch and cottonwoods were all a brilliant gold (yellow) here, and then the .... winds came and wiped all the color away. Finally got all the garden put up. That termination dust on the mountains is creeping closer. Son and I finished Summer maintenance on the snow machines. Have a bumper crop of blueberries at the cabin this year.. I'd bet you have a good crop of them over at your place too!
take care

Hey Billy Jack, thanks. I've been looking for Spruce hens and will be out soon for some trout. The moose? 1 moose is to much meat for me so, I have someone who is my proxy and he does all the work and I share the meat with him.

Hey John, good to hear from you. The canoe is in very good condition. Most of the leaves are gone here as well. The winds were notorious. I'm kind of excited to see the snow approaching, I'm looking forward to this Winter at the cabin. My machine is ready to go. Have not seen any at the cabin but, I am going up to Hatcher's Pass and get some, I hope. Take care

Hey John
My Son and Grandson spent a week at the ca bin looking for a moose.. No moose but Son said he has never seen so many grouse out there. Blue berry pancakes.. Would be my choice....

Just stumbled onto your site yesterday. You have yourself a new follower. I spent a lot of time in Alaska, mostly in the bush, but am currently up in the woods in Oregon. Your blog keeps me connected so I appreciate what you do.

My current project is digging the dirt off the lid of the septic tank so I don't get charged a dig fee when the pump truck comes, and I am also harvesting tomatoes for my garden.

What was the deal with the electrolyte problem? I admire your energy and also your fearlessness. No way would I go out picking berries alone. Not anymore, anyway.

Hi and welcome Earth Girl, thank you for stopping by and signing up. I like an outhouse, it doesn't have to be pumped, just moved when full, LOL. I didn't get to do a garden this year, was to busy with projects. My electrolytes were really low from dehydration, not drinking enough water. The problem was, I'm not used to the hot weather we have been getting in the Summer. I have been going out in the woods for many years and can't afford to be afraid but, I am always ready for any emergency. Again, I thank you for coming aboard.

I agree with you on the outhouse. It is on my list of things to put it. I live on an old homestead with a well and old plumbing. Living on borrowed time, so I am most interested in an outhouse. When my mom was a kid she said her dad sprinkled lye down their outhouse.

Hi Earth Girl, I like outhouses because, nothing breaks on them. Sounds like you have nice place where you live. Take care.
