Snow got me working hard💪

Sorry for not blogging lately. We have been hit with so many snowstorms, it was hard to keep up. This has been the toughest Winter in a long time. Because of so much snow it is interfering with my cell signal and is taking forever to load pictures. I did upload videos on YouTube. Go to YouTube and type John in Alaska and you will see what I am dealing with. Hopefully, I have my friend Matt coming to help me with snow ❄️ removal.  Thanks for understanding.

Take care

Days are getting longer

Hi folks, we are gaining longer daylights, about 5 minutes a day. I'm glad about that, I just wish we had more sun. I've been working on my solar panels today, they were covered in snow and ice. So, I got the snow off with my roof rake with an old towel attached to it. The ice was a different thing. I got on the roof and sprayed the panels with de-icer and used my hand-made scraper on the panels, worked good.

Had a nice breakfast before going out. Pancakes, blueberry syrup and pork bacon. Mmmm, good.

Halibut w/vegetables.
The top is what the whole panel looked like and the bottom after spraying and scraping.
Got some ice build up going on, will tackle tomorrow, hopefully.
                     Mmmm! I like pancakes
This is Ramen with vegetables and soy sauce. It tasted really good.

Before I close, I put some videos on YouTube for the hell of it, if you want to check them out, type in John in Alaska or Trip to town part one. Let me know what you think.

Things are changing Part 2

Howdy, I got some rest last night, I slept to 9 am. Woke up to snow but, not a lot. To start off with I had a weird breakfast this morning,  fruit cake, yep, you heard right, lol.

Slab some butter and you have breakfast.
Last night's dinner was something I haven't had in a long time. Hot Roast Beef sandwich with steamed vegetables.  It was good.

Then, for a late night snack, it got really weird. Cold boiled potatoes with salt and pepper. LOL

Here is a breakfast some of you never heard of  Scrapple, I remember my mom making it as a little kid. You slice it and pan fry it to a golden brown.

Here is the package listing the ingredients.

Took a couple of photos of Mt. Denali and Mt. Foraker a couple of days ago.

Driving into the Village of Willow.

Well, that's enough for today,  I still have more to post and will do so in a couple of days. Thanks for checking in. Take care.

Things are changing PART 1

Hi everyone, I finally got all the sides done on the cabin.

The spot on the back wasn't done because,  I decided I want to add a pantry for food, dishes and pots and pans.
I had to hire a guy with a tractor and scoop to come and clean out the snow. Being without my snowblower due to being broke down, the ruts were to deep.
He did a great job, cleaned it down to the gravel.

Now that I have my snowblower back,  I can clean the yard up a little better.

A couple of mornings ago, I headed to town and the Sun was just coming up, about 10:30 am.

Well, I started this post too late and it's after midnight so, I am calling it a night. This is a long post so, I will resume tomorrow.  Check back in.

                    Goodnight

What's happening?

Hi folks, I know it's been awhile and I apologize for the delay. This is to let you know everything is fine. Wednesday,  I had a colonoscophy, (sp?), they found one polyp and removed it and discovered I have an Ulcer. They are doing a biopsy and will let me know what is going on.

The weather has gotten warmer. Middle 30's and today it's slightly raining. This is such a relief from the snow and minus 30's. I am finishing working on the inside of my cabin so, I have more room and looks nicer. I will do another blog in a day or two with photos and I think you will like it.

Someone asked if I was still moving to Upstate, N.Y. I have to say, it's up in the air right now. I will expand on it more at a later time. Thanks for sticking with me.

                     Take care
