Something new is coming

Hi everyone,  well, as you all know, I sometimes just get an idea about something and just go with it. This is one of those times. I'm not sure what brought it on but, it's just something I feel needs to be done. When I built my cabin I should not have painted the walls, I liked it at first but, as the years went by it became very boring and made the cabin not look like a cabin.

So, I have decided to give this cabin a whole new look, a more rustic look both inside and out. I will start inside and as the weather changes I will work on the outside. Believe me when I say it will look very different.

Here is what it looks like now.

I know it's a it messy but, it won't be long. So, I just wanted to touch base with everyone and let you know what is going on. We'll, that's it. Oh! By the way, I got my first Covid shot yesterday and will get my second shot on February 16. Take care.

Change is good. Looking forward to your updated look. Congrats on the COVID shot. They're hard to come by in Minnesota. We only get 60,000 does a week and they're still sticking the very elderly, teachers and healthcare workers.

Hi Art, I fit in there because of my age and Veteran status.

Looking forward to see your upcoming improvements. Waiting patiently for my spot on the Covid vaccination list. Here in Indiana I haven't heard anything about veteran status to determine spot on waiting list.

Take care.

Thanks Jim, up here the VA are giving the shots to Veterans and active duty. Tomorrow I go to pick stuff up for the change, even I'm excited, lol.

Hi, John! Yes, I’m still here, just haven’t commented in a while. Sounds like you are feeling good and excited to have a project to start on. I think it’s great to have it look more cabin-like! Take pictures along the way so we can see! Take care of yourself.

Blessings!

Hey John. I just presumed it was dry wall since it was painted. Wood would make it look more like a cabin. I am excited to see what you do. What a great project. When do you think it will be warm enough to work on the outside? April? May? Have fun and take lots of pictures!

Hiya John sounds like cabin fever has hit tha man cave lol ... been making some changes in my she shed ... I think it’s being isolated so much & a change lifts our mood. Having a cabin look will have a more rustic feel. Good luck on your reformation and take breaks often lol .. happy to hear you received the vaccine. Signed up and Still waiting to get mine. Take care Bert From Bama

Hi Cotton, WOW!Good to hear from you, it's been quite awhile.Hope everything is good with you and 👪. It is nice to have a project to have something to do now instead of Spring. I will have enough to do then. I will make sure you get to see the change. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Passport, I'm not going to tell you, lol. I want everyone to be surprised and you will. Outside work could start late March but, more like April in between the rains. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Bert, I do miss the rustic cabin feel. I think you all will approve. The isolation is driving me nuts along with wearing a mask but, it's for my safety.

Hiya John just checking to see if you got overwhelmed with your cabin makeover lol ... I’ve been in projects like this and right in the middle decided what in tha heck was I thinking. Especially the time I decided to remove a sofa from a room and got it stuck in doorway lol ... hope you haven’t given up and just sitting with a Corona looking out tha window haha ... take care Bert From Bama

Good morning 🌄 Bert, nope, just sitting here having coffee ☕ and getting ready to jump in and work on the project. No furniture out the door. You have a good day.

Afternoon, John. Trying to muster up the enthusiasm and energy to get things done around here as well. After the ridiculous heat of last summer, told myself that I was going to get every project around here that needed doing done before spring and summer arrive and the heat makes even the simplest tasks a trial. Nothing too crazy, just painting and cosmetic stuff. Always something needing fixing or straightening up. Not to mention de-cluttering. lol I'm one of those who saves every scrap of wood from a project..and it builds up over the years. Looking forward to seeing your remodel. Take care, M.

Hi M, I know what you are saying. Our Summers seem to be getting hotter than ever. I am not used to the heat. Here in Alaska,I have to go out early or late in the evening when it's cooler. I guess, it is what it is and we can't change the weather. Good luck on your downsizing.
