I'm back

Well, it's been awhile but, I'm back. I've had a lot going on medical, socially and work wise. First of all, Freddy is gone, he got to be too much with his running away and not wanting to go with me anywhere and I need a dog that is more willing to do things with. So. I rehomed Freddy with a musher who is close by and has told me Freddy is doing very well on his team.

Which brings me to Aurora, she is an Australian Shepard and a great companion.

Aurora is 7 years old and is very intelligent and obeys me very well.

She is good off leash and pretty much stays on the property but, when going on a walk, I have to keep her on the leash because,  she will chase a vehicle. We will work on that.

I started residing my cabin
I really like the color, it is a more friendly look. I had to put the work on hold because, I noticed the front was drooping and I have to raise it back up.

Here are a few meals I've had.
Orange Chicken

                      Moose vegetable and tomato soup

I took this picture of a tree at night with frost on it, thought it was kind of neat.

Got most of my firewood cut

That's it for now, I will be posting more often take care and stay safe.

Great update. Our neighbor had an Australian Shepard who by the name of Rowdy. They are great dogs, alert and very intelligent. You will enjoy the dog.

Hey John
really like your choice of companions.. Those Shepherds are extremely intelligent. Friends in Homer raised and showed them in the winter.
your firewood shed is looking good. Any wind damage up your way? birch tree went down, tearing out a section of fence here. Just another spring project...
Stay Warm (+12 here right now)...

Hi John, she is a good dog, I'm sure she will be a great companion. We had lots of wind but, not much damage, mostly things got blown around. 6 degrees right now

Hi John, Aurora's a great looking dog, have read about how smart those Austr. Shepherds are. Sometimes when a dog's not a good fit, it's just common sense to rehome them to a lifestyle they're more suited for. A lot of folks don't ever grasp that. I didn't know Aus.Sheps had a watchdog type of trait, I like that in a dog as well. Nice work on the siding, I admire your fortitude getting into a job like that during the cold temperature days. lol I'll be interested in seeing which jacks you use to lift your sagging front. Have to do something like that here too and haven't bought them yet. Take care, M.

Hi M, I've had Aurora for a week now and she has settled in comfortably already. She is a hell of a watchdog, any noise outside, her head and ears are up and she barks. I should be working on the front in the next day or two. I will share it in my next blog.

Hi Bigfoot, good to hear from you. She is a very good dog and a great watch dog. I need a lot of wood, the temperatures are really cold.

Bushrat John said...

Hi Bert, thanks. She is a great companion and a top notch watch dog. I will cut more firewood to be on the safe side. Not much snow really. The temperatures here are sub zero, pretty cold but, that's to be expected. Thanks for dropping in.

What a cute pup... looks like you have been busy cutting wood... I got lazy and bought some... ya... junk wood... probably maybe have 3 over nighter pieces out of the whole 3 cords... Figuring we have had many warm winters, we are due for some cold... and sure enough they are saying 15 below... tomorrow and wind chills out your way they are saying down to -50.... I can handle ambient temps that are low but not the dang wind... you just cant stay warm with the wind in any way shape or form...Stay safe...

Hi Wash, Aurora is a great dog and a wonderful companion. I have a lot of downed trees here. It is cold as hell here. Had to put the siding and lifting the cabin on hold. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Wash, good to hear you are keeping warm, I can hardly wait for the temps. to go up, being 74, I am starting to feel the cold a little more. That's not paint, it's a material like T-111. Been to cold to paint. I hope it warms up soon. Take care

You will need to post the url to your you tube channel. I am not finding it. Being new it is hard to find usually. Anyway if you post it I am sure there will be a lot of people sub to it, there by you can be found quicker.
