My birthday, my present and changes

Hello everyone, on Oct. 15 I turned 72 and I feel pretty good about it. I decided to buy myself a birthday present. 2008 Ford escape Hybrid.

I started on the addition
I have been doing a lot of downsizing for now, I don't feel so crowded although, I still have more to do.
I built this table to fit the cabin

I now have more room and not so much clutter

While I was out back, I looked up to see a woodpecker and spotted this abandoned bees nest. Pretty cool, eh?
It's been constantly raining here kinda makes it miserable. Hopefully it will turn to snow soon. So, that is pretty much that is going on at the moment. Will keep you up to date on the addition. Take care

Bruce clarification

I recently received a comment on my post about Bruce, criticizing me for re-homing Bruce.  I want to fully clarify, not that I have to. This persons comment was made to make me sound bad. I will not mention a name or gender. What everyone didn't know, Bruce was being trained through the Veterans Administration as a Service dog for my service connected disabilities. Because of his destructive behavior, he was deemed not a proper candidate for the program and I had a choice to relinquish him to animal control or re-home him to a good family for which I did. I will not apologize for my actions. To people who criticize others for things they do, you never know the situation and/or why.

I know, the majority of you who follow my blog will understand my position and for those who can't, that's your problem. Thanks to those who understand. Take care

Good news and sad news

Hi everyone, I will give you the sad news first. Bruce is no longer with me I'm sorry too say. He's been a great joy to have with me but, his destructive behavior inside had gotten way out of line. I couldn't leave him inside with out destroying anything he could get a hold of. I left him inside for 10 min. while I went across the road to help a neighbor, he ripped his bed apart and the green chair I had in the cabin, things I had on the floor was spread all over. This is way to much bad behavior. So, I gave him to a good friend of mine who has a big home, 60 acres and a big family that can keep an eye on him. I will look for another companion that is not destructive and yes, I will miss him.

On the other hand, I have been very busy downsizing and building. Tonight's dinner,
As you no, Fall is upon us, we don't have many colors but, what we do have is nice.

Remember when my wood shed caved in? Well, here is the new wood shed.

Stacking lumber to start building the new addition on the back of the cabin. Will start this coming weekend weather permitting.

I forgot that I told you I was taking Bruce to Hatcher's Pass. We did go. On the way

On the road to Hatcher's Pass

Up this hill is an old mine

                             Road to Summit Lake

                                   Summit Lake

The days are getting cooler and the nights even more cooler so, time for a fire.
Well, that concludes this post and more to come. I hope you enjoy this post. Take care.

Chit chat

Hi everyone, just wanted to give you an idea of what's going on at the moment. It's been raining and a lot of fog in the mornings, not to much going on. Bruce is pretty proud of himself the past 2 mornings when I get up and take him for his walk to take care of business. He has flushed out 5 Spruce hens or commonly known as Grouse. He sneaks up on them and then he pounces, lol. Very funny to watch but, I don't let him get them. He goes nuts when they fly off and he just runs back and forth barking. Anyway, at the moment I am working on minimizing my cabin and am really hitting it hard.

You will not believe the difference it is making as far as room. It feels so nice to not be cluttered in.Fall is definitely here. The leaves are turning their golden color and falling. I decided  not to spend much money on this cabin anymore, I want to spend time traveling places with Bruce and have fun.

If the weather is nice this weekend, I will take Bruce to Hatcher's Pass and hike a little bit and pick Blueberry's. It should be a fun time.

I have been watching Youtube a lot and I came across someone whose videos just blew me away and I just can't seem to get enough of. The person I am referring to is "Jonna Jinton" a beautiful young lady who lives in Sweden and is someone who has captured my heart and mind. She is Angelic like, both in appearance and heart You really should view her videos. Please go to Youtube and type her name in and you will see what I mean.

Anyway, thanks for reading and take care.

Chat time

Hi all, it's been raining all day and I spent most of the day watching youtube. Which I enjoy, I learn a lot about certain things. I'm very glad for the rain, it will help put the fires out. I knew it was going to rain when I saw the sky last night.

Today, it is raining really hard and heavy thunder. Honestly, 2 times Bruce jumped on my lap, LOL. Here is how hard it rained.

Here is Bruce chomping on a rawhide bone.

Now it's time for me to chat, I have been giving a lot of thought to my time I have spent here at the town cabin. I enjoyed it a lot when I first came and had a lot of fun working on it and sharing with those of you who followed me as I worked on it and the meals I cooked.  I don't really enjoy it any more because, it doesn't seem like a cabin anymore. Being on the road system has spoiled me and I don't like it. The cabin has become cluttered with things, to many things. Because of this, I have neglected my remote cabin and who I really am. I have lived to many years in remote Alaska to move here and become who I am not. Remember me starting out? I miss it and wished I never changed it.
I miss this cabin

Now my cabin is crowded with things I don't need.

This is not me and I plan on changing all this, most everything has to go and I need to spend my time on the remote cabin. I plan to get rid of most of the stuff here in the town cabin and bring back the oil lamps, candles and get rid of a bunch of things outdoors. I am hoping those of you who have stuck with me will be pleasantly surprised to see it go back to the way it was. I know, I will not be as depressed as I have been. Who knows? Maybe some of those past friends will come back or I will get new ones. All I know is, I will feel better. There is a large family up the highway who lost everything in the fire so, I will donate as much as they can use so, I can start over as well. I will be posting more as soon as things start changing. Thanks for understanding and sticking by me. Take care
