Just checking in

Hi everyone, sorry for not posting lately but, I'm kinda in a funk. Today it's 4 degrees and no sun,  I haven't had much sun in a long time and it does affect some people, like me. This Coronavirus has me literally staying home trying to be safe. I'm told, at my age I am more apt to contract it  faster than most.

I very seldom go to town or associate with anyone and I wear my mask when I'm out. It is driving me crazy hanging out here. I am thinking about taking a ride somewhere this weekend and take some pictures of whatever. Hopefully it will help me get over this funk.

To be truthful, I think I am bored with my life and think there should be something else in my life. I just haven't figured it out yet. I sometimes think I need a change of scenery.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know what's going on. I'm sure by Sunday night, I will have a post posted with some interesting pictures. Take care

Hey John
Know the feeling.. with this damned virus thing we rarely go anywhere.. She goes to the Sr citizen's gym and the Post Office and that's it. We do a lot of reading and playing cards... TV really sucks...

Monday I went with my Son to the cabin to rescue the Skandic SWT 550... h2o problems in the gas tank... Tuesday we managed to get the 550 running again.. Had to tow the Arctic Cat home... BUT the river trail is the best it's been in years.. Really smooth.. due in part to mother nature, but in large part to the folks who have been pulling the groomer back and forth....

Hang in their John

Hey John, I only travel as far as Mile 49 to 3 bears. I agree about the tv. I talked to my sister and they just got dumped on with 40 inches of snow. Good to hear about the trail. I had some water in my new machine but, I took care of that. So, I will see what happens this weekend. Stay warm

Morning John. We are having grey skies and 36 degrees. Too cold to go out and tired of being in. I only go to grocery store once every two weeks. I stopped doing what used to give me pleasure because it wasn't fun anymore but a doctor told me to keep doing what I used to like doing just lower my expectations about feeling good afterwards and it will eventually be alright. Doesn't make me feel good at the moment but I don't know what else to do. I would like to see some of your pictures. I really miss Alaska.

Morning Passport, it's 4 degrees this morning at 9 am. I understand that but, I have a few other things going on and that affects my routine that I have normally done. I will try to get out and get some photos possibly this weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

I think we're all in a funk. COVID numbers are going crazy here, and I imagine we'll be locked down again soon. Woke up this morning to temps of-4. Too cold for me! On the plus side, we did get 2 feet of snow which I love!

Hi 518, I hate this virus, it pretty much took over my life. I talked to my sister last night and she got 49 inches by the time it stopped snowing 🌨. She said Florida is looking better, lol. Take care.

John: This seclusion has us all down except for the idiots who think it's fake and continue to spread it around. If everyone would just mask up and keep a safe distance it would die off. Here in MN the numbers have been really high. People in the Dakotas and Wisconsin ignored it and now they are paying. A friend of mine died two weeks ago. Healthy, great guy. I decided I'd work harder to stay alive. Ha. Winter and the short sunlight can be tough so I'm trying to get started earlier in the day and get one or two tasks off my list. The nights, however are long. Everyone enjoys your posts and we like to see what you are cooking up so share that as you can. We're always looking for something else but you are lucky to have a bunch of people on the internet following and supporting you. Be tough!

Hi John, you are not alone in being in a funk, this last 10 months has been a rollercoaster of events. We think we are immune to the emotional and physical toll this virus and politics but our bodies and mind eventually show us we are not. Hang in there and after Dec 21st days start getting longer, this always gives me hope and peace even if its gradual each day.

Merry Christmas!

Dee

You are not the only one. I hope you can go for a drive. I try to go 2-3 times a week. I go to the lake and stay in my car if it is cold or others are around. Something else I do is look at houses on Zillow. I pick one out (only dream, not serious to buy). I then go drive by the house that is for sale just to get out. It gives me a destination and it is fun to see places I never knew existed. I thought I have been everywhere in our county, only to find I haven't.
Something recent I have discovered is a church about 25 mins away has a drive in service. Everyone stays in their car so we stay safe and keep their windows up. Today we all sang Christmas songs and they will have a Christmas Eve drive in service! I can't wait to go each week. So nice to smile n wave and everyone obeys the rules. This gives me something to look forward to.
I do the grocery pick up twice a month. I also go to the library as we have curbside service. You can either call or order online and they call you when your order is ready n set up a time. You call when you get there. They leave your movies/books on the sidewalk. Then when she goes back in the library you go out n pick them up. Sorry to jabber on. It is really a rough time. Just hoping some of these ideas will work for you. I am praying for you, John. :) Did you get out n take pictures yet this weekend? If you did, I can't wait to hear about it and see your pictures.
We will get through this! There are also therapists online to talk to. Are you going to get the vaccine?
Take care and stay safe.

Hi Art, I agree with you on the mask thing. I don't understand people who think this is not real, how do you explain all these deaths? I am also working hard on staying alive. I gave up going to N.Y. to spend the holidays with my family. Thanks for stopping by

Hi Dee, Merry Christmas to you and your family. I sure hope 2021 brings us relief from this virus and things get back to the way it was. The longer days will be welcomed for sure.

Hi midwestgal, well, you certainly have it covered it seems. Sad to say, I didn't get out because of slippery road conditions. The highway that runs past me doesn't get traveled as much so it stays kind of slippery and I don't trust other people. Yes, I am getting the vaccine from the VA. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Bert, I am hoping that the new year will bring us relief and happiness. I have been sleeping in more and more each morning, sometimes longer than I want. I take Vitamin D every morning religiously. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well and hope everything goes well for you in the New Year.
