I'm back and ready to blog again. It has been a rough road but, I finally hit smooth road. I've had a lot of things going on and it took me quite awhile to come to terms with them. At the moment, I am just sitting back, taking it easy and doing some heavy thinking about changes that I am going to make. I don't plan on relocating to Upstate, N.Y. where my sister lives. It's not for me. But, I am planning on a change here in Alaska. I plan on traveling out to my remote cabin soon, I hope. We have had very warm weather which made traveling impossible Now we are getting subzero temps too freeze the rivers and marsh.
We had a very nice Fall, the kind I like, sunny.
Then, I finally got my front yard filled in and makes a great difference
This operator whose name is also John, did a fantastic job
Not one big rock showing
Then, Winter finally hit
One of my buried snowmachines
I am stocked up on firewood for now and will get more later
Surprised I can still bend over at my age, LOL
Dinner from last night
Foggy morning

I think I will end it here for now so I will have more to say in my next post. I hope everyone had a great New Years and survived, lol. Today, I am just hanging out and staying warm. It's 3:07 pm and -16 degrees. Take care

Good to have you back John! Enjoyed your post & pictures. Glad you see your funny bone is still intact ☺
-23! I thought my 38° degrees was cold this afternoon! How much colder out at the remote cabin?
Good job with the over easy eggs.
Take care. Best wishes with the decision making. Some people thrive on change, then there's the rest of us.

Oops. Had to redo it a couple times to finally get it published and I see a goof. I meant glad 'to' see your funny bone still intact
Thanks Susan, glad you enjoyed this post. I always have humor, it's my medication for life.
Yep, a healthy dose several times a day can do wonders ☺
Susan
I love your food posts... looks good. MMMM LOL Glad to see you posting... I hope you had a great Christmas and a better New Year. We are hunkered down here with a fire keeping warm. It is only -12 here. At the cabin it says -25. Hope all is well and your over your cold. Holler if you need something. Son is only taking 2 classes this semester to finish his auto... then Finally Graduate.... LOL
Wash
Glad you're back!
Nice dozer work. How's your F150 running? Gorgeous scenery.
Thanks Wash, i think this will be a better year,(fingers crossed), lol. Good to hear Seth is doing well. Happy New Year.
Thanks Bigfoot, he did a fantastic job on my yard. The F150 is doing fine and can handle a load, no problem.
Hey John
Your looking good there. A lot better than you did when you hauled away my dead spruce trees. (IMHO). Great job on your front yard. Saw your post about the tripod trail. I think folks stayed away when it was so unseasonably warm, and there was too much water everywhere but now that the temps are below 0 That trail should be alright. I know the river trail is good up to Yentna station, but you leave the trail just above Luce's.
Stay warm

John.....Happy 2019 to you too! So glad to see that you are posting again with new "scoop"! I love the temperature reports too and the improvements to your front yard - very nice! I can relate since we have done some yard improvements too (on a very minor scale) but they have made such a positive difference in how we enjoy our place! Your choice of menu selections for your day are always appealing too! Enjoy your new space and your new year! Looking forward to reading more - thanks!
Chris
Hi John, thanks. I feel better for sure. I'm waiting for Chris from Talvista lodge to groom and mark the trail. Might be too much snow for me to travel it.
Thanks Chris, changes can be good in many ways. The lower temps. make it safer to travel. I always like a good meal. Take care
Hi John,so great to see you back blogging. I've missed reading your great posts and beautiful photos of Alaska. I am glad your feeling better and up and about. Your yard looks perfect nice and flat. Your meals look just as tasty as ever and my mouth is watering. Looking forward to more posts as always and maybe a few from your remote cabin.
Take care
Carol
