Happy 4th to all of. Hope you are enjoying it with family and friends. I myself am just sitting back and taking it easy. Not much going on, Randy is still in the dumps but, I'm sure he will recover. I have been working on a project, I am building gates to close off my driveway hopefully to prevent theft.
I am building them from pallets I got free from Lowes. I've noticed new flowers growing in my front yard.
I also noticed the first Fireweed.
I've made acouple of purchases. A new generator, a Generac IQ2000. The guy I bought it from paid little over $800 for it and sold it to me for $450. He decided he needed a bigger one.
It works just as well as my Honda EU2000i except, it is quieter, has a fuel gage, tells you how much running time is left and has 3 speeds, eco, standard and Turbo.
I also bought a post hole digger for a $100, it is 3 months old. I can change the bit and use it to drill through the ice.
I haven't been doing to much of anything else because it's been raining here for ever it seems like. I do miss going out to the cabin, Randy said he would ask around to find me an affordable pilot un til he is back in the seat again. He is such a good friend.
Well, that's it for now, will try for a more interesting blog soon. Take care

Happy 4th to you too, John! Hope Randy perks up soon.
Interesting is overrated. Ordinary days can be priceless😊
Sunny days here after the rainiest fall\winter on record in western Washington. I'll try to send some north.
Susan
Hi Susan, hope you are enjoying your day. I like Ordinary days myself. I sure would appreciate that. Stay tuned
Happy Fourth to you, John. I am intrigued by the gates.....Do you experience much theft at your location? Enjoy your summer - I look forward to pictures and posts no matter the "interesting" value.......It is nice to hear from you. Thanks Chris
Hi Chris, thank you. We have been experiencing some thefts lately. Just want to have a little piece of mind when gone for extended times.
Happy 4th of July John,
That's a good looking Gen Set.
Old John
Thanks John, back at ya. It works good so far.
John, I'm watching "Alaska State Troopers" on TV & always think of you when I watch it. One thing that always amazes me is how you make perfect fried eggs...when you post a picture of one it reminds me of how my mother made them. Might sound strange but I'd be happy to be able to cook like you do.
Great price on the post hole digger which can definitely make a tough job just a little easier. The generator is a good buy too & it's really something you need out where you are.
Hope rain clears up. Those wild flowers are beautiful.
Take care of yourself,
Leslie in NJ
Hi Leslie, it is a fun program to watch. Thank you, I'm honored to have my eggs compared with your mom. Oh shucks, I'm not that good of a cook. I do enjoy cooking , mostly in the Winter. I did make a couple of good buys. The sun is out today, hopefully it will stay. Take care on the East coast.
Seems like you folks up there are good at making do with whatever comes to hand for your projects. Do you ever read Joel's blog? He lives out in the desert and does the same thing. I can't remember the URL but the name of his blog is "The Final Argument of Kings."
We're having a lot of rain and massive thunderstorms come through here, just about every evening now. At least I don't have to worry about forest fires, like we had last summer.
Happy belated Independence Day John! :)
I hope you get some sunny weather, it poured rain here on Canada Day, but the sun is back for a little while! You got a great deal on that generator. That is something I keep putting off buying because of the expense, but when I need it, I'll be kicking myself for not getting one.
Hi Harry, there are times you just have do things because, of financial reasons or just to do things because you can. I like working with my hands and make things from discarded materials. Sorry, never heard of that blpg but, will check it out, thanks.
Hi Rain, Happy 4th to you as well. Generators are very important to people who depend on electricity to live their lifestyle. I hope you get one eventually.
I do appreciate the good use of a pallet.
Hi Mary, I do as well. I like to go online and see the things that are made out of pallets. Hope you enjoyed your 4th
Hi John. I was sorry to read about your friend's plane. That is unfortunate. I hope you are having a good summer.
Thanks Carol, Randy is hanging in there. My Summer is ok, getting lots of rain. I'm waiting for Winter.
Are you doing any gardening? Is the rain making the mosquitoes bad? What kind of excursions are you up for while the weather is good?
No gardening this year, thought I was going to spend the Summer at the cabin working. So I put it off. Right now I am working on a project at the town cabin so I have some security when I'm at the lake cabin. I'm working on something fun to do when the gate is done. Stay tuned.
I'm needing a new generator, was looking at those gentac ones... how is your Honda holding up?
Wash
Belated Happy 4th
Hi Wash, the Honda is working fine, it would be better for you although, the 3000w would be better. I want one of those.
I'm looking specifically for something to run our power tools, charge batteries and pump from the new well.... the well will be sporadic after we flush it, as needed only. But still have to figure that into the usage... I'm looking 4000 or so when the most power usage is needed...
