Painted my kitchen table, chairs and counter
Built a work bench in the Arctic entry
This picture was taken around 11:30 at night, believe it or not
About my remote cabin, my friend Randy has his plane in for an annual and we plan on going out to my cabin June 1st or shortly there after. My plan is to stay out there for about 2 or 3 weeks to get things started, come back and take more stuff out. Not sure if I told you the name of my lake is Black Martin Lake. Once out there I will try to post daily or every other day. I will start a new blog titled, MY TIME AT BLACK MARTIN LAKE, or something similar. I hope these posts are entertaining enough and will close for now. Take care

Hey John
Your yard cleans up nice. You've been wanting to get rid of that old camper for several years I know. That work bench looks good. Every body should have a work bench.. mines kinda cluttered right now… Your paint job on the table/chairs looks pretty classy. Doing any spring fishing yet? Got my River boat put back together, but have yet to get it wet.. Some friends wanted me to go with them to the Deshka but had a DR appointment. They didn't catch anything, but would have been a nice boat ride..
Later
Old John
Hi John, thanks, I haven't been fishing yet either. I wouldn't mind getting out there sometime. I will do planting of fishing at my lake though. I like having a work bench but, mine is now cluttered, lol
I can see why someone cumshawed your photos. Very high quality. Just stumbled across your blog but am looking forward to reading it. I thought about moving to Alaska in 1986 when I left the Marines, but couldn't find a way to make a living there. In retrospect I'm probably better off here in the Blue Ridge mountains. That's a tough environment.
Thanks Harry, welcome to my blog. Actually, a person can live here using common sense. I have seen many documentries about the Blue Ridge Mountains and it's absolutely beautiful there. I remember seeing a morning mist below the mountain tops, gorgeous.
Hi John...... I am thrilled to read that you will be posting more frequently! Very nice job on the paint jobs...that always makes for a nice quick improvement in things. I wonder if you will ever get another dog, considering the life there seems conducive to sharing it with one? My life is currently shared with two and I cannot imagine my time without them. They were not this way when they came to me, but they are surely helpers in every sense of the word. The pictures are gorgeous and I look forward to reading more about your life there. Thank you! Chris
Thanks Chris, I am considering another dog, I'm just waiting to get things stable at the remote cabin. Keep checking in.
Hi John, I love the table and chairs! You did a great job painting them. I like that the cupboards match. Great price on the chair, can't beat that. It is really bright for 11pm. What time does it get dark there now? We get dark here around 9:30pm. Love the cloud pics. I can't wait to start reading your new blog about the remote life. I know you have wanted to move there for a long time. Thanks for the update.
Hey Carol, thanks. I never was much into doing projects like those but, when I feel depressed, it takes my mind off other things. The chair is very comfortable. At this point, it doesn't really get dark unless it is really clustered or overcast. It gets more dusk like. It will be great to be out there.
everything looks great, John! love the table, chairs, and cabinets. mmmm...more good food photos! :o) I'll be looking forward to all you post about your remote cabin adventure. yard looks fabulous, and I'm a lover of flowers in a window box. very cool workbench, too. you have been keeping quite busy! take care. Debi
Hi Debbie, thanks. It seems this is the year that everything is coming together nicely. I have found that flowers lifts a person spirit. Thanks for keeping in touch.
I think so, too, John. flowers make the world a happy place. at least in my little world. :)
Great minds think alike, lol
John, your place is really looking nice! Glad to hear you're getting to go out to your remote! Will look forward to hearing all about it. I've been checking in but not commenting much. Sorry about that. On June first I get a new hip, so will be here while I'm recuperating. Your pictures are really pretty!
Blessings to you!
Hi Cotton, so glad to hear from you. Been wondering where you were. Hope your new hip works for ya. It will be great getting out there and getting some work done. Not to mention a change of scenery.
Nice table and chairs. If you start a different blog make sure we all have the link!
Thanks Mary, I will
Love all the pics and the major clean up in the yard, that is a lot of work. Looking forward to your additional blog.
Hi Lynn, thanks. It should be an interesting blog, I hope.
Hi! John, You really have been busy! The furniture looks great, the colors go well together!
It's nice to plant flowers, it makes it feel more like spring and makes you appreciate the beauty of nature!
I have the garden planted and really enjoy it , even though tonight we are getting down to 36, had to cover the veg. and some flowers!
Take care and looking forward to your new blog when you get out to the other cabin! KC
Hi KC, yep, been really busy. I decided against a garden this year being so busy. I was never much into flowers but, found out they help with my PTSD. New blog coming soon.
