There are 2 snowmachines under there
Now for the rest of the property
I have been pretty busy shoveling, hauling firewood. I haven't really started doing my usual Winter cooking yet. Just been eating simple meals.
Stack of hot cakes, egg on top and Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon coffee.
Pork chop on an Everything bagel.
I haven't really been up to par, I had surgery a couple of weeks ago and have stitches. I won't go into what it was about, kinda personal and way more info than you would want to hear. I am still on the mend, as the doctor said it takes longer because of my age. I have to go back to the Air Force hospital Dec. 16 for surgery follow up. Hopefully, I will be myself soon and get back to being busy again.
I think you all remember the problem I had with my laptop, the screen going black and I couldn't use it to load photos from my camera. I could figure a way to load them onto my tablet from my camera. That has changed, a young man at Walmart showed me what I can do. He sold me a regular SD card with a micro card that fits inside of it. I take pictures, pull the micro SD card and put it in my tablet to download photos onto it. That's how I did the photos above. See, You're never to old to learn from the young.
My temperatures have been hovering between 0 to -15. With the new woodstove, my cabin has been very toasty and uses less wood than my old one. I am going to buy another one for my remote cabin. As soon as my stitches are out, I will be going to the cabin. I would like it to be a bit warmer so, nothing freezes in the town cabin while gone.
Well, that's it for now, just wanted to check in. Take care.

That's a lot of snow. I'd like it but my wife is against it. Shoot, we're supposed to hit 70 this weekend here in NC. Hope you mend up quick!
Glad to hear you are on the mend. Good to hear about the wood stove as well. Boy when you are up to it, you have a bunch of shoveling to do. I will talk to the youngster and see how he is looking for finals week and if he and I might come out for an hour or two so he can shovel you some paths...if you want.

Hi hiker, good to hear from you. 70? It'll be awhile before I see those temps. Ah, bring your wife up and when she sees the beauty, she will love snow.
Hi Wash, good to hear from ya. Yeah, there's quite a bit of snow. It would be nice to see you both again. Let me know. Hope all is well with you.
I'm jealous of your snow. We have quite a bit in the high elevations but it has turned into ice in town. Hoping for better winter weather soon. Looks like the east coast is having a long break after last year.
Hi Mary, I'm glad we got the freeze first, then this snow. Will be able to travel by snowmachine earlier.
It will have to be on Sunday. Do you need wood split and any water? Son would like to bring a friend... I will vouch for him, he is a great kid.

Sunday's are always good. I'm good for water and split wood, thanks.
Hi John... Glad to hear you are on the mend. I have been having a problem with swallowing and will be having surgery in January. Have been eating only pureed food and liquids for over a month and will be up to and after for some time YUCK!! Enjoy your food :)
We have not gotten any snow yet where I am and temp's have been higher then normal for this time of year. I personally am okay with it since I probably won't be able to do any shoveling for most of the winter.
Take care !
Grace
Hi grammie, so nice to hear from you. I miss your blogs. Sorry for what your going through and having to have surgery. Pureed good? I agree, yuuuuck! As much as I love Winter, I sometimes I wished we didn't get so much. I wish you well.
Hi John, Sorry to hear about your surgery. I hope your feeling better. Boy, you do have lots of snow. It looks lovely! We did have a storm here last week but it is melting away with the warm temperatures we have been having. Have to tell you about a fox that was running across the field next to us. He was running flat out and when he it the ditch to go across the road there was a big fluff of snow went up in the air. Then he ran across the road and when he hit the ditch on the other side of the road there was another big fluff of snow went up into the air again. I almost peed my pants laughing. Thought you might get a kick out of that story. Well, get better soon and thanks for the photos.
Carol
LOL, Hi Carol, loved the story. The Fox is fun to watch when he/she is chasing food. They can hear whatever it is under the snow then, they pounce face first into the snow. They can be hilarious. So far, my snow has managed to stay white which is nice. Take care
Snowed here once and then all melted.
I like the snow but am happy not to drive in it!
Wayyy above normal temperatures too.
Take it easy on those stitches. Give it time to heal dude.
Did it rain there like it did here? It poured here for a few days. Is your snow icy and will we need to bring something to break it up? It is up to you if you want us to bring my sons friend?

Hi Evano, I seen to be healing well, so far
Not much ice, just have snow to move. I appreciate the boys help. Would like to get some moved before the next snow comes. Thanks for the help. His friend is welcomed.
John.....
Sorry to hear you had to have surgery but thankful that it is now behind you and you are on the mend! Yep, it seems we are slower to heal the older we get but the reward is still sweet, no matter the age. Please enjoy the beautiful views and the snow and take care of yourself. I do so enjoy your posts and love to "see" the area through your camera and eyes. Thanks. Chris
Hi Chris, thank you. As much as I hate to say it, I do find myself slowing down. I plan to change things and will start taking more photos, now that I can.
awwww, John, so sorry to hear about the surgery. I am sending my biggest wishes for a speedy recovery!! the moment I take my eyes off you, you aren't feeling well. lol kidding. wow...lot's of snow! still warm here, which is all kinds of weird. I love it, yet don't. tells you how fickle I am. :) I will be thinking of you hoping you feel back to par very soon. big HUGS!
Hi Deb, great hearing from you. Thanks for the well wishes. So, that's it, you're not keeping your eye on me, lol. I'm getting better every day, thanks.
G'day John, bit chilly up that way. In South/East AUS we are in the first month of summer and its close to 30C today, getting hotter at the end of the week.
Mend well, takes time but worth it.
Re pics, if the camera has a small port on it you can attach it to a cord and load the picsw thru' the USB port on computer.
Enjoy your pics, thanks for showing your surrounds.
regards
Peter
G'day Peter, good to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words. I found that I can get an SD card with a micro card for my camera and use the micro SD card in my tablet. Works good. Thanks

Hi! John, It looks like you are into the snow and cold! Hope you are feeling better and back to good health.
Today we had honey bees near the bird feeder on Christmas, it's nuts! We wouldn't be surprised if a bear runs through the yard
As it thinks it's spring! Is your weather near the norm for this time of year? Take care, KC
Hi KC, I Love the snow and cold. I am recuperating very well and almost completely healed. Honey bees? Now that's warm. To tell the truth, I don't know what the norm is, anymore, lol.
