Woke this morning to 0 degrees and the sun shining bright lighting the treetops and a nice hot fire keeping the cabin toasty. I'm thinking another 2 weeks and out to my remote cabin, only if this cold weather hangs in there.
As you can see, I have changed things around inside, AGAIN. I built another counter by the stove and painted it with the red paint I bought for the cabin. Turns out, it looks better on the counter.
Not a whole lot going on at the moment, I am enjoying watching the birds still gathering food, catching up on reading and started listening to books on tape which doesn't make me fall asleep. I seem to enjoy it more when I hear someone else reading the story.
Guess I will close for now and get a couple of things done and give my recliner a break. TAKE CARE

HI John... Well the place looks right cozy , change is good even if it is the furnishings!!
Ya that is a cheery looking counter!!
The tress are gorgeous, is that hoar frost or snow on them!!

Hi grammie, thanks. The trees have both snow and hoar frost, the sun brings out the frost nicely. I'm enjoying the books on tape. Hope all is well with you.
Hiya John things are looking good you do better than me with listening to books,i love them but fall asleep its better than a sleeping pill lol...Ive been watching a tv program about living remote in Alaska. Its very interesting and gives me more of what its like doing this.It would take getting use to and the scenary is breath taking and it seems like there are lots of couples doing it.It shows a realtor taking various couples to several locations some with ammenites and some without. It would be interesting to try it but my outhouse would definitely have to be heated lol... well take care John talk to ya later ....Bert from Bama
Hi bert, good to hear from you. What is the name of the program you watch? I might know some of them. Would one be Himo Korth? It was -22 this morning in the outhouse, a little chilly, lol.
Thanks for posting John! The cabin changes look great - you have a really good set up there. Hope all goes well getting out to your remote cabin, I know you're excited (I'd be too!) Look forward to hearing about it all. Do you have a wood stove ready to go out there or do you need to haul one in? Be safe! -Dave in PA
Hi Dave, thanks for stopping by. I am excited. I have a stove out there now but, it is kind of worn out. I have another to replace it.
