This is what I have to drive through going and coming from my cabin. But then, the good part seems to out weigh the bad.

I am really enjoying the sunshine although it makes everything wet. Hopefully it will melt soon. The funny thing, even though I'm retired and have nobody to answer to and can pretty much do what and when I want, I still look forward to Friday. Seems weird, I do more work around the place on weekends than during the weekdays. What I do like the most is, not having to stuff the stove with wood.
In case everyone is wondering, I am still deciding on my fate with the properties and will let you all know soon. I have a strong idea which way I am going but, I'm still going back and forth a bit. Anyway, hope you all are enjoying breakup, Later.

I think your mailbox picture was my only outright laugh of the day :) I can remember times like that in NH--when getting stuck was just inevitable...eventually.
The rabbit pictures were cute and I was actually glad you didn't eat it (which should be weird for me but it wasn't). Good luck on making your decision, might as well hold off as long as you can, never know when something might come along and change everything.

Having a mailbox is a first for me. Getting mail for old people was a chore so, I and a couple of others got their mail for them. I pretty much went down the road to get small game, leaving my guys alone. Won't belong before I make a decision.
Curious where do you get your dehydrated potatoes and eggs... Looking for some backpacking foods for the summer... Thanks.

Hi Wash, normally Ebay or Amazon, Amazon is better though. Receny I have seen Walmart selling no. 10 cans of eggs , potatoes and many other things. Dehydrated hash browns at Costco..
I haven't seen the ones on amazon or Cotsco. Are the ones in Cotsco in the #10 cans? Where did you find them. Have you bought any of the foods from Wally world? How do they taste? They are way less in price than most places on line, with out the shipping charges. I have been looking for meats of all kinds... looking for individual vegies, potatoe chunks, hash browns and cheeses.

I have not bought or tried anything at Walmart. The hashbrowns at Costcos come in a milk container type pkg.
That rabbit sure looks tasty. :)
Spring has almost sprung. You'll be soaking in the rays before much longer. Lots of them too, I'm sure.

What are you using for a camera. You always have some great pictures of the birds and wild life. I have a little canon digital and every time I try to use the zoom feature, the pictures usually are out of focus. Saw 4 huge swans fly over yesterday. RE: f freeze dried food. 3 Bears sells Mountain house and some thing else in the #10 cans. Their prices are about the same as Walmarts. Stay Well

Hey oldtimer, I have a Kodak Z981 14 mega pixel with 26x15 wide angle lens. I got it on Ebay brand new, $139. I forgot about 3bears. Come on out for a visit, I'll make us some rabbit stew.
The only reason I avoid mountain house is cause of the sodium content. Not aiming to send myself into congestive heart failure with all the salt they put in those things. My son and are also gluten free there by I have to watch that we get foods with out gluten in them. Alpine aire and agaston farms both have gluten free as well as low sodium.
Im working to make both jerkey and to dehydrate a bunch of hamburger (freeze it till I need it). Im also going to invest the time into dehydrating celery, carrots, and a few other stew things... may try my hand at potatoe chunks, slices, hashbrowns, etc. Problem with dehydrating them you have to boil them to tasteless starchless ick. LOL
