Hi everyone, I'mmm back

Hi everyone, I know it's been a long time. Mostly due to the weather and being lazy and yes, some cabin fever. A lot has happened since I last posted. First some photos of how much snow I got at the cabin.

I got bored being inside so I much, I felt closed in and decided to redecorate a little.

Just to let everyone know, finally found the problem with my Trooper, bad ignition coil. Went to O'reillys in Wasilla last Thursday and picked up a new one. Drove back to Willow dropped it off to the mechanic. He calls me Friday evening and tells me it is defective. So, he calls O'reillys and they say,  they won't have another one until Tues. or Wed. just my luck. Anyway, everything else is going fine. Now for the big news. I found this ad on Craigslist

Anyway, just for the heck of it, I contacted the person to see what he was looking for. I certainly didn't think he would be interested in my place but, you never know. Anyway, he was interested and it turns out he lives in Willow also. So, he drove out to my place and we had a long talk and we made a deal his 40 acre homestead for my Willow property and my remote Skwentna property. I am really excited and will be taking it over May or June. This will be my permanent residence. The cabin needs some work and that's ok. There is great fishing all around, all spiecies of salmon and pike and trout. The property is high and dry except for one little swamp area which has a trail around it. The only neighbor is a lodge about 1/2 mile away which has an airstrip which I can use. Now I have access by air, snowmachine and boat. Deals like this hardly ever come along.  The property is North of Skwentna.
This news brought me right out of cabin fever and sure brightened my day.
Now that my Trooper will be fixed soon, I can maintain my blog more often. The only thing left is to find myself a great companion and I am working on that. I may have made a connection and will find out for sure next week. Anyway, I think this enough excitement for all of you and will close for now. Don't give up on me just yet.

Wow, I have never heard of anyone trading property. I think you might have got the best of the deal here. Looks like a nice place. Can't wait until you can show us the inside of the cabin.

Hey John,

Good to see you posting again.

That looks like one heck of a deal there. 40 acres WITH a cabin! Wow. I hope everything is on the up and up.

The rearranging looks like it gave you more room. Maybe that just looks that way because you've straightened up a bit. Who knows but it looks better. :)

Talk to you later,
R.

Hi R, thanks, it is on the up and up. Making plans to go up and see it. I moved everything around and it opened the cabin up.

Hey John
Glad to hear about the trooper... Sorry you and I couldn't figure it out the time we looked..
Sounds like you made a great deal on the 40 acres. Thats beautiful country up that way. I've been up the Yentna River that far a time or two, buty not in recent years.. Regards John

Thanks John, that's how things go sometimes. It is really nice up that way. I can't wait to get up there. I'm sure the cabin will need some work though.

John, so glad to finally hear some news, I was concerned about the last medical scare and hoped you were in speedy recovery and stablized your sugar. What a deal, a deal we can be most jealous of sounds like a great location and with your building skills I am sure you will have the cabin ready for a "possible" companion to share it with:) Wow you had lots of good news to share. Looking forward to more posts.

Thanks Lynn, I appreciate your concern, the sugar is fine. It will be a lot of work at the new place but. will be fun.

Hey, John! Hope all is well with you. I am so excited for you to find the place you wanted! Am sure you are good at "fixing up" the cabin.
I've been several states away visiting my 90 year old mother, so had not checked in recently. Sure was glad to hear the good news about your Trooper and the new property.
Take care of yourself. BTW, will you be able to keep us posted on things after your move? I sure hope so.
Blessings!

Hi Cotton, I sure hope everything is fine on the homefront. I was glad to get the Trooper fixed. The maiden drive sure felt weird. Everythng is fine with me. The new homestead will be fun. There is a fishing lodge close by with satallite internet so, I will access during the summer for sure. Welcome back.

Just thought I would drop in and say congrats... sorry your not keeping the place close by. Im glad it served you well this winter when you needed it most.

Having puter issues so I have been on sporadically. Little one went through spring break last week so we started demolishing the parts in my house that are totally in need of rebuilding... Im wanting it done so I can sell out and move out.

Glad to see your back on. Glad your sugars are doing better.
