New surprise? Sorry, no

Hi everyone, I know you all have been anxiously awaiting the surprise and I was happy to bring it to you, only it's not happening. Many of you were right, it is a woman. She lives in Sterling, Alaska and we have been talking online for quite awhile and decided to make our relationship happen. She made the break from her apt. and job sold many things and moved up here on Thursday. We got along pretty good until Friday { I know} and things started going South in the relationship. Turns out she isn't into my lifestyle as much as she thought she was. She really thought she would enjoy the remote lifestyle but, found out she is way to citified to change. So, this morning we talked it out and decided we should part ways as friends rather than enemies. I told her she can stay until she finds what she really wants. Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.

This does mean I am back looking for that special woman who really wants that remote lifestyle and that I will feel comfortable with. WOW! Who would have thought someone could say they are looking for something and figure out it's not what they are looking for. I try to let a person know what remote is and can only hope they understand. I can tell you this, I will be more sure the next time. I am going to make a post soon looking for someone which was an Idea I got from Jenny on Frontier Freedom and no, she and I are not compatible as she is not attracted to me.

I forgot to load photos from my camera, I bought a greenhouse Friday and will erect it as soon as this rain stops. It is raining hard today. The plants are doing good, Got blossoms on the tomato plants and got my first blossom on my strawberry plant. I think they may do better in the greenhouse away from the colder mornings. Hoping at least my celery does better.

This is a enough for now, I'm going back to the cabin, get my composure and look for another gal.

See ya all soon.

Aw shucks, that sucks. I won't try to give you love advice as you have been on this planet longer than me and am sure like all of us you've had your scrapes. You got over those, and so this too shall pass. I know that won't take away the disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall off your cone, but remember you have a bunch of us cheering for you here from the bleachers. So keep the faith and keep forging ahead. As Vana White used to say; beeeb, "wrong answer, next contestant please" I am thinking some faithful furry company of the four legged kind might be in order. So long as you scratch his ear once in a while and feed him every day, a dog will never complain and will always be there.

FWIW, I could write a book on my misadventures in romance. Frightening fiascoes more times than I have fingers to count with. It was only when I gave up all hope, and gave up looking that someone that stuck around for more than a short spell came along. Its been 16 yrs now. Not always easy, but we are stumbling our way along.

Thanks Debbie, hey! You win some and lose some.

Thanks M, I'm sure there will be more. This is the shortest romance for sure, lol

Hi John.. Well I was right, so sorry it didn't work out for you, but she would have to be a real special gal to live the life you do!!
Don't give up your life for any women that isn't into what you like!!
Stay true to your self, she is out there somewhere!!

Hope your feeling upbeat, and ready to try again!!
Me I am happy just the way thing are...don't need any more love life drama!! : }

Hi John, It's good that you part with no hard feelings because she must have genuinely thought she knew what to expect and what she wanted or she would hardly have quit her job and given up her apartment. At least you both found out quickly what you really want and can go on from here. I really hand it to anyone who can handle hard situations in a positive manner. My gut feeling is that this experience just means you are one step closer to finding the right one for you. Good luck to both of you!

Hi John,
I am so sorry things didn't work out for you. I guess it is better now rather than later. My heart breaks for you John but you are a wonderful person who will find the right person when you least expect it. Until then enjoy your garden and this new greenhouse you got. Take one day at a time and rejoice in the things you do have like your health, wonderful cabin, garden and the wonderful wildlife all around you up there. Enjoy living the remote lifestyle you love.
Keep your chin up John!
Carol

Thanks grammie, guess I will have to change the way I do things in the romance dept.

Thanks, it is much easier to part as friends and stay that way.

Thanks Carol, I'm fine. I will enjoy the greenhouse and have a lot of things to take my mind off this.

I'm sorry, wow. It is a hard life but so rewarding. Granted it was 15 yrs ago but I wouldn't have traded my experience for anything in the world. I am female, and I went out there with a friend and a 10 yr old child. There are women that do want the life. Keep your head up John, you will eventually find the right person.

Thanks Wash, I know, I just need to make sure of someone first, if it's possible to be sure.

Hi John,
It's a Monday and the beginning of a new week, and a new outlook of some sort I hope for you. You will know that - that someone special is the right one when she comes along. I'm contemplating putting a greenhouse together of some sort to extend the season on somethings, produce always tastes better homegrown! Take care and I will be watching for your posts. KC

Hi KC, I appreciate your thoughts and hope your greenhouse works out for you.
