Not much going on

Well, it's been a while since I last posted and thought I should let everyone know what's going on. For the most part, it has been raining way more than I would like and it was a heavy rain. So, pretty much I have just been hanging out watching movies or sitting on the deck thinking about things. Eventually, the rain did stop and thought it was time to start cutting up the tress I cut down a year ago and hauling them out to my pole barn.

I got quite a few out but, still have many more to do and that is my goal right now. The temps. have been going down in the mornings. Which I enjoy. That night I made a great meal.

This morning it was 28 degrees but, didn't get a pic. I also had a fire going all night in my new stove which turned out to be a good idea.

The wood in this stove stays a whole lot longer than my other stove. I really don't have a lot to talk about but, I did take a lot of photos around my property. I never really took time to see what is on my property but, am glad I did. I was impressed at what I discovered. So, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Ok, that's enough for today. I have more photos but, I will save them for the next time. Hope you enjoy these photos. Take care.

Checking in

It has been a while and as usual, it was basically laziness and trying to get things done in between the downpours. The rain is just not letting up at this time. It is very hard to get anything done. Last week there was a break one day and was able to paint and install the wood stove I acquired.

  THE OLD LOOK

  THE NEW LOOK

When you think about it, A little paint can make a difference. I did manage to get it installed, just before the rain came again.

Yeah, the old man still has the strength

  Finally

The red around the base is tape, I caulked the base and it started raining so, I figured the tape would protect the caulk. It didn't. A few days later we got a real torrential downpour and I discovered a leak. Not big but,  still a leak. I haven't been able to fix it yet due to the constant rain. Hopefully it will stop raining before Winter, LOL.

I have my buddy that likes to hang out although, I believe he has ulterior motives, the nuts I supply him with.

The first Moon showed up at least for me and I was really happy to see it. As a matter of fact, I sat on the deck drinking tea just looking at it. I am also glad to see nightfall as well. Easier to sleep. I even saw stars.

Here is a salad I threw together, lettuce, onions, carrots, corn, mushrooms and Italian Dressing. It was pretty good.

Made a pot of soup also, tastes good on damp rainy days. Turkey macaroni, pinto beans, green beans, corn, onions, mushrooms and there may have been a few other things in there, just can't remember.

Took a few random shots

As usual, these are taken from my deck looking into my yard.

Took these yesterday, just before it started pouring rain again. It seems to clear up for about 10-15 min. and wham, the rain hits again, hard.

I am really hoping the weather will get better soon but, listening to the weather reports, it doesn't sound good for the rest of this week. I will have to put up with the leak over my wood stove for a bit longer or come up with an idea. My thought right now is to cut a piece of plywood to fit around the double wall, tar it and slide it up to the roof and connect it someway with small screws that don't go through the roof and hope that does the trick.

I hope this is somewhat entertaining until I get better weather or figure something else out. Take care.
