Fall is coming

Well, except for the temperatures, it seems Fall is on the way. The mosquitoes are becoming less and less which makes me very happy. Now I should be getting lots done. I know it's been awhile since I have done anything blog worthwhile. I do have some pictures to share, they aren't spectacular. This was the temp. yesterday.

I painted the deck on the free trailer I got

I am preparing to move my outhouse tomorrow. I have 3 strong young boys coming to help me. This will give you an idea what it looks like today.

As you can see, it is starting to lean

I plan to move it 6 feet back and here is the new hole. It won't be very deep, I dugged down 3 feet and hit water. Not a lot but, enough to not want to dig anymore. So, it won't be deep. This is the new hole

My property is starting to green up some.

Took some random shots of clouds and Sunsets

By the way, I had this old TV antenna laying around so I decided to try it out and it works. Got to watch Americas got talent last night. LOL  Technology at its finest.

We got rain a couple of days ago and the white streaks are raindrops. I think they are kool.

These are 2 sections of the deck I got for free and this spot will be the shop/storage building.

On Sunday, I made a special meal for myself

It turned out good and tasty, Spiral noodles, Sweet peppers, onions, spinach, diced tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.

My table setting, that is a bottle of  homemade Strawberry wine. Mmmmmm!

Life is goooood. Well, that pretty much sums it up as to what I have been up to. I have figured it out that, I can't afford the multiple trips to my remote property by commercial air so, I will wait until the snow falls and go out by snow machine and haul everything or most everything out there. I will shovel the snow around the cabin and build the new addition and cut wood as well. It will keep me busy during the Winter but then, that's what it is all about. I'm sure by then, I can find some help. Thanks for reading.

I'm Fine

Hi everyone, seems some were a bit worried about me and I appreciate that. Nothing is wrong, I've been taking some "alone time" hanging out at the town cabin thinking about things that I need to do or not to do. Not to mention the heat is back. It had been cool for a week and a half and now it is back to the 80s. The evenings are real nice, around 60 degrees and the mornings are 50 degrees. For some reason, that sun hasn't figured it out yet that I want it to not come around as much.

The mosquitoes have lessened some but, there are enough to be real annoying. I try to go out and get work done but, between the heat and bugs, nuttin gets done. I suppose also, I have been feeling kind of down and really need to get over that feeling. Not sure why I am but, I am. I some what think it's because I miss a lot of my friends when I was out in the Lake Clark area. These are people I fished, hunted and bs'd a lot with. We did a lot of things together. I miss the pot lucks.

I will be busy this week though, I am building a 10'x16' deck on the front of the cabin and moving the outhouse so, hopefully by next Monday, I will have pictures to share. Oh! I forgot, I hooked up an old TV antenna I had and get 3 channels, 360 North, Food Channel and PBS. I've only watched it once. I still like my radio better. Basically, I watch the TV when I am charging batteries. Anyway, just touching base with everyone, take care. John

Some new changes

First of all, the weather has changed dramatically, sorry forgot to take pictures of the thermometer. For the past week  it has been raining, drizzling and the temps. have been from 50 degrees to 70 degrees, very pleasant. The mosquitoes? Yep, still here. I am hoping the temps won't change back to that awful high temperatures.
I am glad I cut all those spruce trees down last year, now I am getting some nicer trees growing.

I will cut more of the Spruce trees so more nicer trees will grow.

I have pretty much did as much as I could to stop the Mosquitoes from coming in, I re-screened my eaves and built a screen door. It turned out pretty good and works.

I got really tired of looking at the very blah carpet I bought and installed so, a friend of mine changed out the carpet in one of her rooms and gave it to me along with the padding. I really like it and it gives the cabin character, I think.

OLD CARPET

NEW CARPET

With the padding, it is real comfortable, I slept on the floor last night to test it and it passed. I haven't been doing much outside because of the mosquitoes. Hopefully they will start becoming less and less. Like my cardboard drawers? LOL

I want to wish everyone a

                     Happy Independence Day.
