Take time off

I'm back from taking some time off the computer. I'm a firm believer that at times a person needs quiet time away from technology and people. It feels really, really good. I can honestly say, it felt very good. As a matter of fact, it gave me some much needed time to catch up on my reading. I just got a book that I recommend anyone interested in Alaska read.
                       The Quiet World
                            Saving Alaska's
                         Wilderness Kingdom
                          BY Douglas Brinkley

The days are getting longer and warmer, today it is raining on and off and the snow is melting fast. I took a ride on the lake and there is a lot of water on it. Now is the time to be careful because, pressure cracks will start appearing. So nighttime travel will probably will not be attempted by many.

The mornings have been in the middle to high 30's. As you can see, it is also kind of gloomy. This is the kind of day to sit back with a book and a nice cup of hot tea or coffee. When it is a nicer day and not raining, I will have to go out and clean up.

I love the photos at the top of your blog - especially the third one.

I can't wait for spring! The snow is quickly melting, but I won't be happy until there are buds on the trees.

I too like looking at your photos. No more snow here although it did snow three times this year in Georgia and one even stayed on the ground, lol. The leaves are all coming in on the trees and everything is growing great.

Hi John, welcome back to blogland. I'm glad you had a nice break. It has rained here all afternoon. I keep watching the Kenai River, but it is still not flowing yet. The funny thing is, at Sterling (12 miles down the road) it is flowing freely and has been for at least a month. Go figure.

Thanks for the remarks concerning the pics. I really enjoy taking photos. The funny thing is, it's 8:35p.m. and it is snowing lightly. I am sure it will be rain tomorrow.

Hey Carol, the one thing I have learned is Nature is unpredictable. Susan, I'm with you. As much as I enjoy winter, this year, I can't wait for it to be over.

Becky, I don't know what I would do without real winter. It really is my favorite time of the year, no bugs,LOL
