Trip Postponed More Dr.'s appt.

Hi folks, I have to postpone my trip for now. My Dr. scheduled me for an appt. with the Alaska Heart institute for some tests that last pretty much the whole day on Monday. I'm told that I can't have caffeine or chocolate  and I have to fast for 18 hrs. before my appt. Plus, the weather calls for rain this weekend and a trip while raining isn't much fun.

So, I will try to come up with something this weekend. I do want to say that, I am being very cautious with this Covid Virus, I am now wearing a mask wherever I go. We had a couple of cases here where I live so, that is too close to home. I hope all of you are staying safe and protecting yourselves. Thanks and take care.

New Roof

Hi everyone, well, I finally got a new roof and it looks a whole lot better than the old roof.

The old roof
Sunday, I took a ride North about 30 miles to the Big Susitna river.

Not sure if someone was building a raft or what
Rapids under the bridge

Worked on the shop, built a loft to store things in the shop
                                  Cross braces
Look closely and you can see the floor of the loft.

I started weed eating the back yard to prepare to have gravel brought in to flatten the ground.
This is a Black and decker battery operated weed whacker. It's lighter and quieter Than my gas weed whacker.
                      It actually works pretty good.
This is all I have for right now. Will be working on another post soon. I am trying to make them more often. Hope you enjoy. Thanks

July 4th...part 2

I didn't want to post everything at once because, although people like photos and to read the blog, if it's way to long a person can get bored. This is about the dock I built and installed at Kashwitna Lake. I went to check on it a while back and noticed the water came up and upset the dock.
Well, it was my time to pull the dock out and replace it

so, I moved the dock over to the right where it works better.

This is very cool, I was driving by the lake when I saw this plane tied up to the dock. I stopped to talk with the pilot and he said he was pleasantly surprised to see a dock. He thought he would have to walk in water. He thanked me for building it and installing it and wanted to give some money but, I turned it down and told him, I was paying it forward. Since then, I have seen a lot of people using the dock to launch their canoes, paddleboards and rafts.

It certainly made me feel good that people are enjoying it. Here are pictures of me building the walkway to the dock.

Putting a preservative on the walkway.
                             Finished product

July 4th 2020

Well, I figured a way to post, use my old laptop. I still haven't figured the new one out. Not to mention, this is the first time I didn't eliminate the photos from my SD card so yes, I do have photos to show. Something I want to share first.

A week ago Friday morning, I got up to go outside, I got very dizzy, broke into a huge cold sweat and had pains in my chest area. It scared the hell out of me so, I called 911. Emt's arrived at my cabin and hooked me up to all their machines. As soon as that happened I felt great again, turns out, I was low on Electrolytes which was a relief to me. The following Monday, I went to see my doctor and she is sending me to the MatSu Cardiology unit to be on the safe side. This is one time I was really afraid. I have taken my doctor's advice and cut down on my coffee and diet soda intake. Since that day, I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and have drank nothing but water pretty much all day.

July 4th dinner is: N.Y. Strip steak, green beans and hash brown potatoes.
It was cooked on my new grill I bought. I decided to buy this small one because, I don't need a huge stainless steel grill.

I was hoping to find a reason to use my back door, LOL

Because, I was in a sad mood, I thought I would buy something to cheer me up so, here it is....1996 Chevy Camaro with Ttops and I like it. I do have better pics that I will post at a later time.
It was time to fix the shop
Remember this?
Well, it looks a bit different. I had my friend Matt come over and help me trans form this mess to this.

I found this Burl Table and it is beautiful. It measures 35" across the top, 20" at the bottom and 35" high. Came with 2 round glass tops.
The surface has 4 bear paw prints inlaid
Well, I will end this for now, I think it would be better to keep some blogs short and blog more frequently.

                             HAPPY 4th of JULY

Posting problems

Hi folks, I'm having posting problems at the moment. I bought a new laptop and when I go to my blog, there is no new post key. I have been trying to figure it out but no luck yet. I am getting over my grief time and wanted to start posting again. I loaded new pictures onto the new laptop and erased them on my SD card. So, I have enough going on to post every day or every other day. I will use my old laptop for now and start posting this weekend. Thanks
