Happy days, Winter has arrived. (I hope) 😄

Hi everyone, yesterday, got our first snow and pretty much during the night and I couldn't be any happier. Woke up to a great sight this morning.

I celebrated with a good breakfast Caramel flavored Dunkin Donuts coffee.
I was hoping to have a special blog for everyone but, it didn't work out. I friend of mine called last week and told me, he had bought Supercub PA12 on floats and we planed to fly out to mmy remote cabin yesterday, Sunday. So, I gathered some things together to take to the cabin. Well, Sunday morning he called to let me know that his lake had frozen over during the night. Yep, just how my luck runs. Anyway, he will wait a few days and see what happens. If it stays frozen, he will take the floats off and put wheel skis on and we will fly there when possible. It was close.

I am feeling really good, now that Winter is setting in. My favorite thing is to wake up in the morning when it's snowing and drinking my coffee. It is so quiet. I am finding myself watching less tv these days and reading more and listening to radio. I am trying to use my generator less and live a more quiet life.

It's 10:40 pm and I am a bit tired so, I think I will turn in and see what is going on tomorrow. Take care

Hi John. I'm glad things are going your way today. Now you have a little more time to get prepared to go out to your remote cabin. How long will you stay? Enjoy your snow. I'm enjoying temps 55-73 and a few lingering colored trees.

Hi John, You did get some snow! Sorry your plan didn't work out for you. You were so close! It does look like you are going to get there soon though. Please bring your camera for some pics for us to see. You know we hardly miss the T.v. since we cut off our satellite. We can watch some shows on the computer if we want. There are only a couple of shows that we watch anyway. Hope your flying soon!

His Carol, I hope I don't have to wait to long. At first, probably go and drop stuff off, cut some firewood and maybe spend a night in the beginning.

Hey Carol, yep, so close. I definitely won't forget my camera. I get 6 stations and at times, it seems to many.

Hello John.....
It was nice to read that you are ready to go to the remote cabin - Hang in there guy, it will happen when it is right! (I am a firm believer in that!) Have been busy here enjoying the bit of Indian summer we have been getting and doing some additional canning (apples, tomatoes, and a bit of pumpkin (freezing)) Speaking of tomatoes, how have your plants done that you brought in? Please keep us posted on your life and weather - love to hear about both! Thanks - Chris

I think I would love winter more if I had a remote cabin and nowhere I needed to go. Driving in it is the worst. Looking forward to pictures.

His Chris, I'm glad I'm getting closer to my remote cabin. I feel Winter is coming but, slow. The tomatoes I brought in did ok, looked more like cherry tomatoes. I will post more often.

His Mary, I could see you living in a remote cabin. That's what's great about retirement, no schedule. I don't care to drive in the snow myself unless, it's a snowmachine or dog sled. I hope to have more pictures soon.

We had a bit of snow in central MN about ten days ago but no lake ice yet. Your posts are enjoyable. Do you have photos of your remote cabin? That would be interesting.

His Art, good to hear from you. I thought I had posted a picture in one of my past posts. I'll check. If not, I will.

His Bert, glad you showed up, had me worried. Thought you were abducted by Aliens, they've been known to do weird things to people, lol. Hope you are doing well, take care.

His KC, thanks. It's officially Winter here. I will get to the cabin, as soon as it freezes up and get more snow. Take care.
