Not much going on

Well, it's been a while since I last posted and thought I should let everyone know what's going on. For the most part, it has been raining way more than I would like and it was a heavy rain. So, pretty much I have just been hanging out watching movies or sitting on the deck thinking about things. Eventually, the rain did stop and thought it was time to start cutting up the tress I cut down a year ago and hauling them out to my pole barn.

I got quite a few out but, still have many more to do and that is my goal right now. The temps. have been going down in the mornings. Which I enjoy. That night I made a great meal.

This morning it was 28 degrees but, didn't get a pic. I also had a fire going all night in my new stove which turned out to be a good idea.

The wood in this stove stays a whole lot longer than my other stove. I really don't have a lot to talk about but, I did take a lot of photos around my property. I never really took time to see what is on my property but, am glad I did. I was impressed at what I discovered. So, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Ok, that's enough for today. I have more photos but, I will save them for the next time. Hope you enjoy these photos. Take care.

Thanks for the photos John. We're in Hawaii at the moment enjoying the sun but see that winter is on the way up north.

Fungus and lichen have their own beauty and I appreciate pictures of them as much as I do of flowers and leaves...and other foliage. I love Alaska summers, for sure, but I never really dreaded...and in fact, really enjoy the coming of winter. Alaska winters can be quite challenging, but they can teach you so much about yourself! Thanks for keeping us updated. It's very interesting even when not much is going on, as you say. Oh, and yay for that stove!

It is amazing what beauty you will see when you take the time to look. I have tried very hard to teach my children as they grew up about natural beauty.

Pigs are up, need to put up some wood, and clean out the yard...should be ready for what comes after that...feels like winter is upon us. Right now as I sit here in the restaurant Im looking out the window to the lowering snow line on the mountains...before I go back to work want the top and walls on the addition. Glad to see your getting stuff done too...love the mushroom pictures..wish I knew more about them...

Hey John
Snowing pretty hard down here, but you can see it's not going to stick. Earlier I thought it might, but it's fading fast here at noon now.
Glad that stove is working out for you. Are you cooking anything with it yet (besides tea)? Rainy and Snowy wx I'd have a big black pot of stew going. But I'm not much for a lot of cooking. When I have to batch it, I make a big pot of stew or chowder and live on it for a few days at a time.
got to get busy putting the boats to bed now. and I got 3 rows of carrots to dig and put away before the ground freezes. Supposed to be mostly sunny tomorrow so you'll get another shot at cutting and stacking your wood. Stay dry

Hi John, It seems everyone is getting snow except me. Although, I do need to get some things done first. The mornings are getting colder. No cooking yet.

I'm not getting snow here either, but we've had a couple days of temps dropping into the teens. The rainy days are warmer, fortunately.

As usual, I enjoy your "nothing happening here" posts! I often check in just to see what you're up to...

Missing a new post and pictures...now that the pigs are up, green house down, yard cleared for snow plowing, going to use the next two sunny days to get the roof on the entry (I hope anyway)... What have you been up to?
