Checking in

Hi everyone, I know it's been quite awhile since I posted. I have been really busy cutting trees, shoveling snow and clearing a spot for my dog kennel I will be building. The weather has kept me from traveling on the highway. I refuse to drive on the snow and slush filled roads with a lot of crazies. I have a few photos but, again I had forgot to load them on my computer. I believe I am losing my memory and not sure if it is by choice or what. Today as I write, we are getting snow and in for another storm. I have gotten some work done inside the cabin. I recently  came across a cabin in McGrath on 2 acres of land on the Kuskokwim River for $6000. It is a small cabin 10X12 and comes with a wood stove and bunk bed. Not sure if I would like it or not. Everything is going fine and I am fine. I really hope to get back to blogging more often. I think it is cabin fever and it's just about over. I really never use to get it but, recently it has hit me. Probably because I am by myself and haven't gotten out much. Hopefully that will change soon. I may not blog again until next Monday depending on how much snow we get. Take care

I had been checking in to see if you had posted... if you hadn't I would have written something. Glad you checked in. Normally I don't get cabin fever either but this warm weather and sunshine have been making it hard to stay inside.

I checked in with Jenny yesterday. Glad you both are good. We had a wood stove/chimney fire a couple weeks ago so I cleaned the stove really well this past week. Im putting together a seed order for this yr, looking at 2 nigerian dwarf goats, and looking for fencing supplies to set up a place to fatten up 3 pigs. Otherwise just hanging out and homeschooling.

Hi Wash, sorry to hear about the fire. You really have to keep stovepipe clean. I brush mine every 2 or 3 weeks. Jenny was in town for quite awhile and was going to call me but, never did. Is she and the kids back home?

Hey John
Glad to see your doin ok. Did you ever find a good chainsaw replacement? Seen several advertised on Alaskaslist.com and thought of you. Did you get any of that freezing rain up your way? Nasty stuff. Hope to finish up on this Jury duty today.

Hi John, I ended up buying a 16in. Stihl used. Then 3 days later I managed to fix mine. Yes, we got freezing rain and snow. What a mess.

Hi,
No, Jenny and the kids are outside for the time. She said that they haven't gotten much snow out her way.

Ive never actually cleaned out the stove its self and I clean the pipe once per year. The pipe was fairly clean except near the top. The fire was mostly in the stove. Boy did I learn my lesson.

Hating this goofy weather. Missing the colder temps. Been threatening to set up a raised bed and start some broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts and the like. LOL Perfect weather to grow them in.

Hi John. Sorry you're feeling a little closed in and isolated. Why are you looking at the cabin on the Kuskokwim? I thought you had property you were going to build on. I have a hard time keeping up with you!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I haven't blogged much as my mind is still swimming with trying to get my daughter healthy. It pretty much took over my daytime thinking processes.

The weather here is strange these days, I agree. One day snowing, one day raining, one day sunny. Yesterday I actually felt the warmth on my face from the sun while I was sitting in my van...

Hi Carol, it has been reported the State may lease 13,000 acres 18 miles SW of Skwentna. My property is 10 miles SW. Right now, I can't get any info.
