Still around

I'm still around in case anyone is wondering. I just haven't had much to say and haven't been doing much either. Last week, I did a stupid thing, I was heating water to take a shower and kind of forgot about it and by the time I remembered, it was boiling. As I went to pour it in the top of my shower, I stumbled a bit and it splashed out and on to my face and chest. My neighbor drove me 40 miles to the ER in Wasilla and they took care of me. I ended up with 1st and 2nd degree burns on my face and chest. It is healing very well at the moment although, half of my face looks like a boiled lobster. I will not ever try that again. I have been trying to get things done around the town cabin but, between the rain, extreme heat and mosquitoes, I'm not getting much done. I should have some progress and pictures to report by next week. Just wanted to let you all know what is going on.

Sorry to hear about the burns. It could happen to anyone though.
Mosquitoes and black flies are things that I don't miss about the North. We have mosquitoes here but they just plain aren't as bad.

Ouch! Burns can really hurt. I hope that you aren't in much pain any longer. We're getting some cool weather again this week - I hope you are getting some of it with a light breeze to keep the skeeters at bay...

Hi, John,
I'm just getting caught up on my blog reading...took a very long drive to visit relatives and go to a wedding. Good to be home.
I am so sorry to hear about your burn wounds..hope they are healing nicely for you. Did you have to shave your beard?!
Very hot here as of late and still need rain. Can't hardly get enough water to the garden.
Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Blessings!

John
Hope you Have a good 4th John. This drizzle is going to put a damper on all the parades and BBQ's. Think I'll just crawl up in my recliner and relax to celebrate this one.
