My Trip

Well, I got back from my trip and it was nice to get away for awhile. The trip out was nice but, once we got there the weather did a turn. Very windy and at times, 2' to 3' rollers on the lake. So, some of the pictures arn't real flattering. I have videos of taking off and landing but, I seem to have trouble getting them to load. I will keep trying. This is the plane I flew out on.
                 A Dehavalind Beaver

                         Taxiing out

                  Crossing Cook Inlet

            Traveling the coastline

                  Shadow pictures

Duck Cabins on the mudflats. When the water rises, people travel by boat to their cabins.

           Approaching Lake Clark Pass

I call this going over the hump. Once over you are in the Pass.
                           The Hump

The next pictures are going through the Pass showing mountains and glaciers.

             Coming out of the Pass

Approaching Sixmile Lake, it's raining

           Dinner the first night.

            Sixmile Lake from the cabin

                  Evening shots

I thought this was an interesting shot. I will have to work on my night closeup photos.

                    Morning shots

Front view of the property I am looking to build.

                     Back view

             View from the building site

There is an old cabin nearby that I can take apart move to the property and rebuild.

There is an old tent cabin I can use as a cabin but, will have to take the canvas off and rebuild with plywood.

This is what the days looked like. Not very sunny

It did rain a lot so, didn't spend to much time outdoors doing anything. I helped my friend open his lodge and we pretty much sat around talking about the old days. We left Monday morning and here are somepics leaving.
Washing machine Island, yep, it has a washing machine on it and nobody knows how it got there.

Pictures of Lake Clark and the Pass heading back to Anchorage.

Approaching Lake Hood in Anchorage where the trip ends.

I do believe I have posted more pictures in this post than my whole blog,LOL. It tired me out. Despite the weather, I did enjoy my time out there. I visited with old friends and just took it easy. I will do another post this week and give you a more info on what I did out there. This post tired me out. Take care and enjoy the pictures.

I can see how all of those pictures wore you out :)
Very beautiful, scenic area and I'm glad you shared this with us. Envious is the word I will use over and over. You take it easy up there and I look forward to more!

Wonderful! I love the moon and branches. So, is this place only accessible by air? That's pretty wild.

Hey John,

Now that's a boatload of photo's. Nice! Too busy for my taste but it is a beautiful location.

We're within about 60 miles from one another or will be. That's like next door neighbors in Alaska terms, I hear. :)

Thanks Paul, I will try to keep up as much as I can. Sometimes, I get lazy and can't get the steam to do anything.
