Update

There isn't a whole lot going on, I have basically been slacking off on the work that is needed around the town cabin. Just having trouble getting motivated. There is one new thing, I just picked up a canoe for my remote place. I traded my camper for it.

It's an old smokercraft made with aircraft aluminum so, it is lightweight and easy to handle, it has a squareback for a motor which is nice. I like the real flat bottom which makes it easier to carry frieght. Oh and it doesn't leak, which is a big plus. It seems like June will never get here, I am biting at the bit to get out to my Skwentna property and to start taking stuff out to Lake Clark also. I need to start clearing the downed trees at my town cabin.

As you can see, the snow is disappearing more and more. The one good thing about the snow is, I am using it to chill my outdoor fridge for now. Anyway, just wanted everyone to know what is going on. See ya all on Weds.

Hey John
Nice Canoe. You'll get a lot of good use out of it. I got one similar to that years ago and the whole family has enjoyed it. I understand the motivation thing. Some Mornings I take my cup of coffee out and set in the sun in a lawn chair to admire the garden, watch the birds, etc. I think about all the things I should be doing and try to arrange them in a mental priority list.. Then I doze off and forget everything I'd thought about.. take care

Thanks John, seems you and I are pretty much alike on the motivation level,LOL. You going to be going up to your cabin anytime soon? I'll give ya a call.

That canoe reminded me of one that my cousins took me down river from their house in as a kid. Our parents had to wait for us for hours to come back. Oops, but man did we have fun.

You have the rest of your life to get the work done man. Make sure you take time to enjoy today as well.

Hi Evano, the one thing I noticed about having older things, it brings back memories to many. New stuff is just that, new.

All I can say is that you look like you have a lot of work ahead of you! The canoe, sure, that's where I'd be spending my time. Priorities, we all have them. I'd take yours today instead of mine that's for sure. Take care and see you Wednesday! I do look forward to your posts.

Great looking canoe, John! I, also, know what you mean about motivation....I've so much to do on the farmstead and would rather sit on the patio with coffee and listen to the quail and songbirds! Guess we'll all get busy one of these days. :)
Blessings!

I had intended to go to the cabin this week, but some things came up that I'm obligated for so I'm stuck in town this week. Going to Homer with the kids for a 4 day weekend. Then I hope to escape civilization for at least 2 days on the river and at the cabin.
Really like your photo of the P-bird. That's a classic.

Hi Jay, I am refiguring my priorities on a daily basis. To tell the truth, my priorities are getting shorter and shorter everyday.

Thanks John, have fun in Homer. I am thinking about a roadtrip and camp for a couple of days.

Hey grammie, you're welcome. Yes, having a canoe that doesn't leak is a big factor. I will get some pics as soon as they come back.

Hi John,

It won't be long now.. You'll be cruising the lake in your new canoe in no time.

Later,
R.

Love the canoe. I hauled a 16 ft old town up from down south when I moved. Spent a better portion of last summer on a small lake up here in the neighborhood fishing and practicing skills, teaching my son how to control the canoe.

A canoe, little floating fly line, a fly and your off... son and I caught about 6 nice fish over 3 days that way. Tastiest fish I ever got.
